Animal Education Centre Technician: Companion and Domestic
(Full Time, Permanent)
The College is seeking to appoint an Animal Education Centre Technician: Companion and Domestic to help develop the College’s licensed and accredited Animal Education Centre.
You will be responsible for the husbandry of a range of species including: sheep, goats, poultry, pigs, rabbits and guinea pigs. This role includes the specific responsibility for leading on the care plans for rodents, ferrets and poultry.
The key responsibilities of the role are developing and maintaining the highest standards of husbandry and animal welfare as well as the direct supervision of students during their practical sessions and skills development.
As an AEC technician you will be expected to have proven knowledge and experience of working with a range of species and experience of working with young people. You must have a forward thinking and progressive approach to animal welfare, training and enrichment.
An important element of the role is ensuring that the student experience is both positive and rewarding. To meet this aim it is essential the post holder has a clear commitment to providing high quality support to our learners as well as demonstrating exceptional standards of animal welfare.
