Learning Support Assistant – Sports, Outdoor Education & Public Services

We are seeking to appoint highly motivated, energetic and dedicated individuals to join the Sports, Outdoor Education & Public Services Faculty at BCA to work alongside specialist tutors and vocational lecturing staff to provide an outstanding learning experience for our mainstream students. This is an exciting opportunity to offer in-class and, in some instances, out of class support to learners with a range of learning difficulties, disabilities and differences within the Department.
You will need knowledge and awareness of a variety of approaches to supporting learners inclusive of those that may have emotional/behavioural challenges. You must be a confident communicator, able to work on your own initiative as well as within the team to find the best ways to support our students to an excellent standard. Experience of similar work with post-16 learners and/or supporting students with GCSE Maths & English would be useful.
The hours for the role are 8.30am - 5.00pm term time only and we will welcome part time applications for either one, two, three or four days a week (term time only). Days will be mutually agreed (please note Wednesdays are unavailable).
