Floristry Apprenticeship Trainer/Assessor

Part time Opportunity (0.2fte), Fixed Term for 12 Months

We have an opportunity for a talented, highly motivated and dedicated individual to join BCA on a fixed basis (minimum 7.4 hours per week (0.2fte), but may vary depending on learner numbers) to join our Apprenticeships Department. The successful candidate will support our Floristry Apprenticeship learners, have the ability and drive to inspire diverse groups of young people to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities will include planning, teaching and assessing students. We welcome applications from candidates with an assessor qualification and/or an appropriate Level 2 qualification in floristry. We also welcome applications from those who do not currently hold these qualifications, but have relevant industry experience and a desire to obtain these qualifications in the near future.

You will be highly organised with effective communication and interpersonal skills. With a background in floristry, you will be flexible and engaging in your approach to ensure all learner needs are met, and an excellent standard of learner achievement. You will also ideally have experience of working with and acting as a mentor to apprentices or trainees.

BCA is a popular and expanding FE college with a strong land-based heritage. We have an excellent record of academic and pastoral achievement and pride ourselves in creating a caring and respectful ethos where every student is important. If you have excellent organisational skills, can prioritise your workload and are an active listener who encourages development and champions achievement, you will thrive in this rewarding, learner-focused role.
