Lecturer in Engineering

(Electrical and Electronics Specialism)

£40K

PERMANENT FULL TIME ROLE

(37 HOURS PER WEEK, 52 WEEKS PER YEAR)

Basingstoke College of Technology is a leading and well-respected further education college situated in North Hampshire, easily accessible and with excellent transport links to surrounding areas. We provide a wide range of technical training courses, have an extensive apprenticeship programme and an increasing portfolio of Higher Education courses. The college is rated Good by Ofsted, has continued to improve since its last inspection and has maintained outstanding financial health for many years.

Our engineering department is very well equipped to meet the demands of local employers and those seeking entry to higher education. We are seeking a passionate individual who can pass on their knowledge and encourage our learners to succeed.

The successful candidate must have a strong background in engineering and the ability to enthuse and motivate up and coming engineers of the future. Previous experience of working with young people would be advantageous. More importantly you must have the drive, determination and desire to make a difference to young people’s lives through education.

Ideal candidates will have a relevant Electrical and Electronics Engineering qualification at level 3 or 4/5 with knowledge and skills to teach a range of core BTEC & T levels units and specialist Electrical and electronic units to include PLC’s, EEP, Electrical technology, electronic measurement and three phase systems; also, HNC/D core units and in electrical and electronics; a teaching qualification is preferable.

Full training and support will be offered for those who currently do not have a teaching qualification** conditions apply. You will also hold or be willing to work towards accredited vocational assessor and internal verifier qualifications.
