We are looking for graduates, from all disciplines, to work within our school as a full time cover supervisor 08:20-14:50 five days a week, term time only.
Our vision for the cover team is to provide a high quality learning environments that allows our students to continue making progress during staff absence. Within the role there will be a range of bespoke training and support available. Once training has been received you will be required to hit the ground running each morning with the ability to absorb and transfer information; working to specific instruction and lesson plans in providing a lesson to the students in your care and a continuation of their learning. You will be responsible for leading classes in subjects both within and outside of your subject knowledge. When there are no classes to cover you will be required to provide in-lesson support to students.
Who is this role suitable for?
This role is suitable for anyone with a passion for supporting young people or graduates looking to gain experience in the classroom before undertaking teacher training, previous experience of teaching is not required. A cover supervisor’s role is an excellent platform to experience teaching and be part of a secondary school environment.
The role will require someone who is able to think on their feet, remain calm at all times, be adaptable, have good communication skills, work independently, be committed to safeguarding and student welfare of young people from a range of backgrounds.
Applicants are required to have a minimum GCSE English and Maths at grades A-C or equivalent

Your experience as a cover supervisor will enable you to build a portfolio and continue onto a PGCE or complete a School-Centred Initial Teacher Training course (SCITT).
We will provide in-school training and support for this role. The induction programme will enable you to gain experience in classroom and behaviour management, pastoral support and understanding the inner workings of a school.
We are currently looking to appoint one full time cover supervisor from September 2020 until September 2021. With a view to providing training during the summer term of this academic year.
