Tiverton High School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated SEND team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students who require additional support, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and make excellent progress both academically and personally.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to support students in lessons, deliver targeted interventions, promote inclusion and provide pastoral support where needed. You will play a vital role in helping students feel safe, valued and successful in school.
Job requirements
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent as a minimum
- GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above
- Experience of supporting students with SEN and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including supporting speech and language
- Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision, including working with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions
- Ability to effectively communicate on the pupil’s progress, with strong written and verbal communication skills

Hours of work
32.5 hours per week: Monday - Friday, 8:15am - 3:15pm, 30 minutes unpaid break
