2 x Afterschool Club Assistants – fixed term until 31st August 2026
Part time 12.5 hours per week (3.15pm to 5.45pm), term time only
Salary: BB02 SCP 3 Salary £24,027 per annum pro rata
Actual salary £6,806 per annum
*This post attracts a Living Wage supplement. In addition to the hourly rate, this post will receive the Living Wage supplement to bring the hourly rate up to a minimum of £12.60 an hour*
Required for September 2025, the Local Governing Committee of St Mary’s Catholic Primary school are seeking to appoint two highly motivated and enthusiastic Afterschool Club Assistants to join our friendly and dedicated team.
The role will involve working with pupils in our wraparound care setting with duties including:
- Assist with the organisation, maintenance, setting out and clearing away of resources to create a purposeful and attractive learning environment.
- Assist in maintaining a healthy, safe and secure environment and act in accordance with the schools’ policies and procedures.
- Assist with any administrative tasks such as attendance registers and ensuring all pupils on the register are accounted for at the start of each session.
- Undertake activities with pupils that promote the development of intellectual, moral, spiritual and social skills.
- Provide general care and welfare by responding appropriately to the social, emotional and physical needs of pupils.
- Respond to the practical needs of children where there is an identified special educational need.
We are seeking someone who:
- Is either a practising Catholic or someone who is supportive of our Catholic ethos
- Holds a recognised food hygiene certificate or is willing to work towards the qualification
- Holds a recognised first aid certificate or is willing to work towards the qualification
- Has excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Is able to work under their own initiative as well as within the team
- Can be flexible in their approach to work
- Is able to demonstrate good relationships with children, parents, staff and governors
