St Cuthbert’s Catholic High School is seeking to appoint an outstanding history teacher. The appointed candidate will become part of a highly successful department which aims to impart a love of history to the pupils in our care. We ensure that our boys develop a breadth and depth to their historical knowledge and challenge them to develop essentials skills to be successful historians. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop within an established and supportive team, learning from outstanding practitioners.
The ideal candidate will display a passion for history, delivering engaging lessons and inspiring our boys. We are looking for a dynamic teacher who will keep abreast of new developments in the pedagogy of the subject, improving their own practice as well as sharing with others. The successful candidate will bring history alive linking it to their context and current events so they can understand why they are studying the subject. Above all, we are looking for someone who will help our boys become better men as well as helping them to be fully aware of the context in which they live for their life after St Cuthbert’s.
