Support Assistant Level 2 – fixed term until 31st August 2026

Part time 32.5 hours per week term time plus 2 training days

Salary: BB03 SCP 4-5 Salary £25,185 - £25,583 per annum pro rata

Actual Salary £18,706 - £19,001 per annum


Required as soon as possible, the Local Governing Committee of St Mary’s Catholic Primary school are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team.

The role will include working 1:1 with some pupils with additional needs, small group work as well as supporting class teachers with classroom administration and organisation. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team, following the direction of teachers as well as working under your own initiative when necessary.

We are seeking someone who:

• Has excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

• Is able to work under their own initiative as well as within the team

• Can be flexible in their approach to work

• Is able to demonstrate good relationships with children, parents, staff and Governors

• Holds a recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or willing to work towards the qualification

• Is supportive of our Catholic ethos
