The Bishop of Llandaff is an 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school serving the Christian and non-Christian communities within the city and surrounding areas including The Vale of Glamorgan, Caerphilly, Rhondda Cynon Taff, and Bridgend. About the role
The catering service at The Bishop of Llandaff is managed and co-ordinated by a dedicated team of staff and led by an experienced and talented Catering Manager. She, along with assistant catering manager, ensures that the service provided is of the highest quality.
As a school, we place great emphasis on ensuring that students are well nourished to enable them to flourish in their learning. As part of this approach, there is a close connection between the curriculum delivery and the food provided at school. Our #BishopBrainFood initiative is designed to enable students to prepare and produce healthy meals and, at the same time, experience these as part of the menu at school. Our student congress have played an instrumental role in helping to determine the menu at school. This has included ‘Vegetarian Wednesday’ and alternative meat options to cater for a variety of dietary and religious observance needs. The school operates a pin-code payment systems to ensure all students can access their food swiftly and without segregation. This also supports the workload of the catering team.
This post would suit someone who enjoys working as part of a service industry and works well as part of a team. The role is varied and there will be extensive training provided to ensure that the appointed person can make a positive impact to an existing outstanding team.
