We are looking for a hard-working and committed individual to join us as a cleaning supervisor.

The Bishop of Llandaff is an 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school serving the Christian and non-Christian communities within the city and surrounding areas including The Vale of Glamorgan, Caerphilly, Rhondda Cynon Taff, and Bridgend. Standards of achievement at all levels are exceptionally high, with outcomes consistently performing amongst the best schools in Wales and rest of the UK. However, the school is more than just about examination outcomes. Our students take part in a broad range of activities that help them become "well-rounded" and our strong Christian ethos helps shape our students to become positive role models in our society. It genuinely is a happy place to learn and work! We want every student to have the best start in life by providing them with an outstanding education! We seek to ensure each student in our care achieves their full potential academically; develops the skills necessary to be successful in our ever-changing world; and understands a sense of morality guided by the gospel values of love, acceptance, responsibility, and forgiveness. These aims are delivered through a commitment to providing high quality learning experiences, a strong pastoral system and an extensive range of sporting, cultural, physical, and extra-curricular activities.

About the role
The facilities team is made up of the premises and catering departments. As key support staff, these teams contribute to the overall aims of the school and ensure the environment is fit for purpose.

The main buildings were built in the 1960s, but the premises team play a significant role in ensuring the school is conducive to learning by providing a clean and safe environment. The team collectively play a huge part in helping to create a warm, welcoming, and safe place where students and staff enjoy attending daily. Despite the buildings being ageing, we have invested heavily in the fabric in recent years. There are planned works scheduled in the summer 2024 to redevelop design technology and music spaces. This is in addition to recently completed refurbishments in science, which saw all laboratories replaced, and sporting facilities and changing rooms. In the last two years, this will see a total investment of around £1.5m. However, we operate a rolling programme of redecoration of all rooms and communal spaces to ensure the environment looks clean and welcoming.

The role would suit someone who can work independently but, equally, also as part of a team; someone who is reliable and not afraid to ‘put their hand to something’ but someone who takes pride in their work.
