Deputy Headteacher

In December 2015 Bishops Lydeard Church School became part of the Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust.

We are a 5 class school. We have 4 mixed age classes and a Y6 class. We have a nursery (from 2 years) on site. We currently offer Breakfast Club from 7.30am. In addition, we have developed a broad offering of after school clubs.

The School enjoys the support of a keen and dedicated Governing Body drawn from parents, staff, the church and community groups. There is also a highly active and enthusiastic School Association which works tirelessly to organise social fund raising events to support the children and the School in general. Moreover the Co-Op provides us with a tremendous amount of support and resourcing. We thank the community for all they bring.

Our community is very important to us and we have strong links with the village, church and local cluster of eight primary schools and feeder secondary school, Kingsmead Academy. The village itself is self-contained having a number of shops, post office, library, nursing home and also St Mary’s Church with which the school is closely connected.

Bishops Lydeard Church School is situated in a stunning location at the foot of the Quantock Hills – an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is located about six miles north of the county town of Taunton.
