Learning Support Assistant (SEND)

Hours:  17.5 hours per week plus 2 Inset days

Contract: Fixed term until 31st August 2026. 

Salary:  JG4 SCP7  £26,403 FTE        Actual Salary:  £10,825

Start Date: As soon as possible, subject to references and DBS

 

The Role

We wish to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work with our inclusion team and work in partnership with our team of support staff across the school, supporting children with a range of additional needs within the classroom. 

We are seeking to appoint a reliable, calm, patient, caring and empathetic individual.  We require a team player who is happy to take advice when required but is capable of showing initiative and creative thinking in order to help the child work towards their Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP).

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working with children with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Experience of planning and delivering learning activities
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding
  • Understanding of how to adapt and deliver support to meet individual needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude and nurturing nature
  •  Previous experience of working with children with behavioural needs within EYFS or KS1/KS2 would be advantageous.
