The Bishop Wand Church of England School seeks to appoint a well-motivated and talented English teacher able to inspire students across Key Stages 3-5, for September 2024. Applications from ECTs looking for their first post or more experienced teachers looking to join a high-performing team are equally welcome.  Either a part-time (minimum 3 days) or a full-time position are available.

Our School has a thriving English Faculty which is instrumental to the improvements seen in the School in recent years. Many of our students join our Sixth Form which offers English Language & Literature, English Literature and Media Studies at A level, and subsequently go onto higher education and careers revolving around their love of English. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic and friendly teaching team which has a significant involvement in the life blood of the whole school.

The successful candidate will have insight and enthusiasm; should be willing to adopt an innovative approach to curriculum planning and be committed to using a wide range of approaches to support pupils making progress in and out of lessons. In return we can offer you a friendly and supportive environment with excellent professional development and progression opportunities.

In February 2023 our School achieved an “Outstanding” judgement following our SIAMS inspection which is testament to our commitment to our School ethos of Realising God-Given Potential in each and every student. We were also inspected by Ofsted in February 2022 and achieved “Good” on all measures. We are not resting on our laurels and are already on our journey to becoming an outstanding school.
