The Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive, detail-driven Purchase Ledger Officer to join our friendly and professional Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy, purposeful environment and wants to make a meaningful contribution to the smooth running of a successful school.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing the school’s accounts payable function using Sage 50
- Processing purchase orders and ensuring appropriate approvals
- Reviewing departmental spend to ensure value for money and budget compliance
- Matching, coding and processing invoices accurately
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries
- Producing financial reports and supporting audits
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the school
What We’re Looking For
You will be:
- Experienced in a finance or accounts payable role
- Highly organised, accurate and numerate
- A strong communicator with excellent customer service skills
- Confident using IT systems, including Excel
- Able to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure
- A positive team player with a flexible, can-do attitude
Desirable:
- Experience of Sage 50 or similar systems
- Experience in an education setting
