Hours: 21 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our busy and supportive Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial processing and supporting the effective financial management of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile bank accounts, petty cash and credit cards
  • Post transactions and journals using Sage
  • Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns
  • Produce financial reports (trial balance, aged debtors/creditors)
  • Raise invoices and support school funding processes
  • Manage financial aspects of the student iPad scheme
  • Support credit control and audit requirements
  • Provide general finance support across the school

About You

Essential:

  • Experience in a finance role
  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail
  • Good IT skills, particularly Excel
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a busy environment

Desirable:

  • AAT qualification (or working towards)
  • Experience with Sage or similar systems
  • Experience in a school environment
