An exciting opportunity for a part time 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work in our wonderful, nurturing independent school from January 2021.

Weston Green School is a 2 form entry independent school situated in Thames Ditton, Surrey. Our school is a special place where children grow and thrive to become independent and confident young people, who achieve exceptionally well but also enjoy their experiences immensely and develop a life-long love of learning.

We are seeking to appoint a part-time Learning Support Assistant to work within KS2 and to work 1:1 with focussed individual learning and support within class. The role will start from January 2021.

Whilst the role is temporary for 2 terms in the first instance, there is scope for the role to continue in the next academic year too.

We seek someone who :

Is an enthusiastic and dynamic member of our team 

Has experience of working with pupils who have additional needs (although not essential)

Preferably has experience of supporting pupils in the classroom, under the direction of the class teacher

Has an excellent broad knowledge of the KS2 curriculum

Has excellent & positive behaviour management skills

Has the ability to work as part of a team under the direction of a teacher as well as being able to show initiative.

Has a working knowledge of phonics, spelling, grammar, punctuation, maths and comprehension for KS2 children as well as an understanding of ways to support learners.

Can show a commitment to developing good relationships with; children, staff at the school, parents and outside agencies

Has high expectations and is friendly, hardworking and supportive and above all flexible!

The contract will be each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8.30am - 12.30pm term time only. Salary £10.96 ph (12 hours per week)
