Contract: Permanent
Hours: 10 hrs and 50 minutes per week (1.10 pm – 3.20 pm Monday to Friday), term time only to exclude INSET days (38 weeks)

The Role:

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and resourceful reading assistant to join our team. You will play a key role in supporting high-quality reading provision, helping to ensure that all learners can access learning effectively and close gaps in reading attainment.
As a reading assistant, you will work flexibly, supporting initially KS2 learners, in close collaboration with the class teachers. You will work as part of a team under the guidance of class teachers and the Early Reading Leader to assist in the educational development of our learners, including those with special educational needs. You will play a crucial role in promoting reading progress, confidence and resilience within our learners to help them thrive.
You will receive training and support to develop your knowledge and skills enabling you to work alongside other reading assistants and deliver effective learning experiences for learners.
The successful candidate will:

✅ Have experience supporting children’s learning, ideally within a school or classroom environment, this can be voluntary

✅ Build strong, positive relationships with colleagues and learners
✅ Be a reflective practitioner with a strong desire to learn and continually improve

Fluency Duty
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to converse at ease with pupils, parents and other users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
