Part of Bellevue Education...

Brabyns Preparatory School is part of Bellevue Education

Bellevue Education is committed to excellence in education. Each Bellevue school is run independently but shares the same values: we believe in broad curricula delivered in innovative ways that excite and engage children; we believe in investment – in teachers, buildings and technology; and we believe that exceptional results should be a by-product of the education that we offer, not the exclusive focus.

We recruit the best teachers and head teachers and make sure that they are fully supported with innovative resources, shared best practice and focused training. We involve parents in their children’s education with not only regular meetings and written reports, but also with head teacher blogs, social media and parent workshops. Most importantly, we treat every child as an individual with their own unique set of talents.

Bellevue pupils are encouraged to aim high, and we provide them with everything they need to succeed.

Mission Statement

Brabyns Preparatory School provides the best opportunity for every child to develop intellectually, emotionally and socially within an environment that is both stimulating and caring.  We encourage all our children to achieve the highest standards academically and in personal and social development to equip them with a sound primary foundation.

Aims and Objectives

We have a holistic approach and our aim, as per our mission statement, is to inspire every child to reach their potential and to actively participate in all areas of school life. To achieve our aim and mission statement we have the following objectives for the whole community:

  • Everybody does their best in everything to enable them to be good citizens, knowing the difference between right and wrong, and to be proud of their actions in all aspects of life;
  • To develop in the children a respect and enjoyment of learning, a desire for intellectual challenges and the ability to use mistakes as learning ‘events’;
  • To foster independence (both in thought and action), self-discipline, mutual respect and spiritual and moral awareness;
  • To expect and encourage responsible behaviour;
  • To have a sense of community and family belonging, where everyone’s strengths and differences are recognised, and co-operative learning and inter-personal relationships are the norm, enabling all children to be individual in their thoughts and opinions;
  • To actively involve the school in wider community events and projects;
  • To encourage and develop skills and excellence in a range of social, academic, physical and aesthetic areas;
  • To prepare children for the challenges of senior education and the world at large.

To achieve our aim and mission statement we have the following objectives for the EYFS:

  • Everybody does their best in everything to enable them to be good members of school and home. Learning the difference between right and wrong, and to be proud of their actions in all areas of life;
  • To develop in the children a curiosity and enjoyment of learning and play, a desire to extend themselves in all areas of development and the ability to use mistakes as learning ‘events’;
  • To encourage and support independence.  Building positive relationships with adults and children;
  • To teach, encourage and develop responsible behaviour;
  • To have a sense of community and family belonging, where everyone’s strengths and differences are recognised, and co-operative learning and personal and social relationships are developed, enabling  all children to be individual in their thoughts and opinions;
  • To make children aware of the wider community events and projects and to be a part of it;
  • To encourage and develop each child’s skills and abilities in all areas of the EYFS;
  • To prepare children for a smooth transition within the EYFS and beyond.
