This appointment is a key moment in the development of the school. The successful applicant will need to have the necessary drive and determination to make bold decisions and ensure that the needs of the pupils within Brecon High School are fully met. In addition, a key area of the role will be to provide staff with support and guidance in order for them to ensure they continue their own professional development and achieve excellence in all that they do.
The role will involve three main elements: (1) to support the AOLE lead with providing strategic leadership to the Science and Technology AOLE, ensuring that pupils make their expected levels of progress, (2) support and challenge teachers to ensure that they are adhering to all school policies and are striving to develop their own professional learning, and (3) leading the development of the ‘What Matters’ statements within the new Curriculum for Wales, assisting the Headteacher with successfully implementing the new Curriculum for Wales.
