The Governing Body of Tremains Primary School are seeking to appoint a friendly, organised and reliable Administrative Assistant to join our busy primary school office team.
This is a key role at the heart of the school, providing administrative support and acting as a welcoming first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and visitors.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing front-of-house reception support, including answering phones and greeting visitors
Handling correspondence, emails and routine enquiries
Minute taking and typing of various confidential reports and documents
Supporting attendance, admissions and general office administration
Assisting the wider school team with day-to-day administrative tasks
The successful candidate will:
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Have previous experience in a school environment however this is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided
Be numerate
Be well organised, efficient and able to manage competing priorities
Be confident using IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office)
Work well as part of a team and use initiative when required
Have a calm, professional and child-friendly manner
Have a flexible approach to working
Some knowledge of the SIMS package would be advantageous but is not essential; however, candidates must be computer literate and have excellent word processing and numeracy skills. The ability to work within tight timescales is an essential requirement for the post.
The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
