We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious primary teacher, who can bring a wealth of experience and ideas from primary school to a small group of identified Year 8 pupils in our unique Dyfodol curriculum provision (see recruitment pack: introduction to Dyfodol Provision, p.4-5).
The successful candidate will lead the Year 8 Dyfodol class (15 pupils), offering pupils a full-time provision with access to secondary learning and teaching experiences, using the many outstanding features from the primary education model. If successful, you will participate in developing pupils’ literacy and numeracy skills and employ a thematic approach to learning across all Areas of Learning Experience. Pupils in the Dyfodol provision are taught together for the majority of the time as a discrete group, but they do have access to many areas of specialist provision which are important features of our secondary curriculum (eg. Science and Technology practical lessons, Health and Wellbeing lessons, etc). Whilst initially pupils access this provision on a full-time basis, pupils have the opportunity to increasingly access learning outside this provision, reflecting their strengths and interests.
We see this as an incredibly exciting opportunity for a primary trained teacher to contribute to this unique approach to learning in a secondary school.
If you are someone who:
Is interested in joining a school where we are always looking to develop to suit the needs of all pupils
has high standards for all and is able to communicate these to pupils in a supportive and caring manner
has a passion for learning and teaching, including the use digital technology
has a strong commitment to the wider pastoral role and wish to make a significant, positive impact on young people’s loves
sees the role of a teacher as being a partnership between school and home then we would like to hear from you.
A Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure Check at Enhanced level will be required for this post.
