37 hours per week – term time only (Mon-Thurs 8.00a.m – 4.00p.m Friday 8.00a.m – 3.30p.m)
Grade 8 SCP 18-20 £31,537-£33,597(pro rata £27,005 - £28,769)
The Governing Body of Coleg Cymunedol y Dderwen wish to appoint a permanent enthusiastic Pupil Support Officer. The Pupil Support Officer (Behaviour and Internal Exclusion) will manage the day-to-day running of the internal exclusion room, providing a safe, structured space where learners removed from lessons can continue learning and reflect on behaviour; key duties include supervising and supporting learners, delivering targeted learning tasks and restorative conversations, creating and implementing reintegration plans, maintaining accurate records and behaviour logs, liaising with the Deputy Headteacher, teachers, pastoral staff and parents/carers, ensuring all practice meets safeguarding and inclusion requirements. The post requires strong de-escalation and communication skills, experience of behaviour management and restorative approaches, the ability to adapt work for ALN and vulnerable learners, and a commitment to monitoring impact through data and follow-up so that learners are successfully returned to mainstream lessons.
