remains Primary School is a two-form entry primary school located in Brackla. The school boasts a unique and diverse learning environment, with three specialist placement classes: two Foundation Phase Observation and Assessment Learning Resource Classes , and a Key Stage 2 ASDLRC. This dynamic setting allows the school to cater to the diverse needs of its pupils, providing tailored support and opportunities for growth.
We are seeking an exceptional Class Teacher to join our team and lead one of our Observation and Assessment Learning Resource Centres. In this role, you will be responsible for the Foundation Phase Observation unit, working with pupils aged 3-7 and providing expert support and guidance. As an excellent classroom practitioner with experience in specialist placement classes, you will have an in-depth knowledge of supporting children with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN), particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Principal Responsibilities and Activities
Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire, challenge and support pupils
Maintain the assessment, recording and reporting on the attendance, progress, development and attainment, including the personal and social needs of assigned pupils and keeping such records as are required by the school’s systems.
Adapt teaching strategies to respond to the unique strengths and needs of each child
Liaise with staff, parents, schools and external agencies to provide maximum support and continuity of provision to ensure children’s progress and attainment is paramount.
Manage the work of support staff in the class, delegating appropriate duties to them ensuring that areas of responsibility are appropriately designated dependent on support staff qualifications
Work collaboratively with the wider school team to provide expertise and support for mainstream classes
Take on a whole-school responsibility for Health and Wellbeing or Expressive Arts
Support the vision, ethos and policies of the school, the implementation of the school improvement plan and promoting of high levels of achievement across the school.
Maintain strong relationships with parents, carers and families
General Duties
To undertake the Health and Safety responsibilities which fall within a manager’s role and the personal Health and Safety responsibilities within the HASAWA 1974. To ensure that all activities are operated in accordance with Equal Opportunities legislation and Best Practice.
