We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Horfield Primary School as a School Meals Supervisory Assistant. This rewarding role plays an important part in ensuring that pupils enjoy a safe, happy and positive lunchtime experience. Working as part of our wider school team, you will supervise and support children during mealtimes and playtimes, promote positive behaviour and social interaction, and help create an inclusive environment where every child feels valued, safe and supported.
To undertake this role successfully, you will need to enjoy working with children, communicate effectively and work positively as part of a team. You will have a calm and patient approach, a commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference to pupils' wellbeing and development. This term-time position offers the opportunity to be part of a friendly and dedicated school community, supporting children to have an enjoyable and successful school experience every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise pupils during lunchtime, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour at all times.
- Support children in the dining hall and encourage good manners, healthy eating habits and positive social interaction.
- Organise and supervise playground activities, promoting inclusive and enjoyable play opportunities for all pupils.
- Encourage positive relationships between pupils and help resolve minor disagreements in a calm and constructive manner.
- Follow school safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour procedures, reporting any concerns as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to help provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment during lunchtime periods.
