Grade + Salary: BG9 - £31,537 full time, actual annual salary £14,395

Hours: 18.5 hours per week,

Term time plus 2 weeks work out of normal hours/days (pro-rata to 1 week)

This is a fixed term contract commencing on 01.09.2026 until 20.07.2027.

Probation period: This role is subject to passing a satisfactory probation period.

Cotham School, a successful, vibrant and diverse 11-18 comprehensive school, wishes to appoint an experienced Academic Mentor.

Required to support the North Bristol Post 16 Centre (NBP16) team at the Cotham Learning Community. NBP16 is a diverse, ambitious and industrious community, which is a collaboration between Cotham and Redland Green Schools. We have been working together for over a decade to educate support and elevate the exceptional young people in our care.

We wish to recruit an Academic Mentor to be based at Post 16 Centre, Cotham. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team where we support, challenge and encourage students through one to one meetings, workshops and advice and guidance to develop key study skills to ensure they become independent life-long learners ready for their next steps and able to achieve their very best. In addition, you will be required to oversee and develop our student leadership provision, providing opportunities for students to gain skills and experience outside of the curriculum, contributing to their wider community and social justice ambitions.
