JOB OVERVIEW

Stoke Bishop Church of England Primary School is a thriving and successful single academy school in North West Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant team in a school that is financially secure with robust pupil numbers that has recently celebrated extremely positive Ofsted and SIAMS inspections. 

We are looking to appoint a highly organised and motivated part-time assistant school business manager to join our friendly and supportive school.   Working closely with our existing school business manager, (who works 3 days a week), you will play a key role in the the financial and operational management of the school.   

The role is part-time, working 24 hours over the course of each week.  We are very flexible as to how these hours are worked and are open to discussions on working patterns.  You may choose to work these hours over 3, 4 or 5 days each week depending on your personal circumstances.

The successful candidate will:

  • Ideally have previous experience of working in a business or financial environment;
  • Have strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills;
  • Be confident using IT systems, including Microsoft applications and financial and management information systems;
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Experience in a school setting and/or a relevant accounting qualification is desirable but not essential.

SALARY AND WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

  • Bristol Grade 12 (SCP 30-33), depending on experience.  (FTE Salary £43,829 - £46,142 / Actual Salary £25,366 - £27,896)
  • Part-time (24 hours per week - to be worked over 3,4 or 5 days of the week)
  • Term-time only and inset days, plus 2 extra weeks - 41 weeks in total.
  • The position is permanent.
  • Start date - 3rd September 2026
