We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Teacher looking to take on the role of Key Stage 1 and Phonics Lead at Horfield Primary School. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding practitioner who is passionate about early education and committed to ensuring every child develops the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed.

As a key leader within the school, you will drive excellence in teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 while leading the development of phonics and early reading. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to raise standards, support best practice and ensure that all pupils achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high quality teaching and learning that enables all pupils to make excellent progress and achieve their full potential.
  • Lead the strategic development of Key Stage 1, promoting consistently high standards of teaching, learning and pupil outcomes.
  • Develop and drive the effective implementation of the school's phonics programme, ensuring strong outcomes in early reading across the school.
  • Monitor pupil attainment and progress, using assessment information to identify priorities and implement targeted interventions.
  • Support, coach and develop colleagues to enhance classroom practice and improve outcomes for all learners.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and ambitious learning environment where every child feels valued, supported and challenged.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to contribute to school improvement planning and the achievement of whole-school priorities.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed and engaged in their children's learning and development.
  • Lead by example as an outstanding classroom practitioner, modelling effective teaching and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Contribute fully to the wider life of the school, supporting extracurricular activities, school events and the school's vision and values.
