Co-opted Governors (2 vacancies)

Holymead Primary School, Brislington, Bristol

Holymead is a friendly, inclusive 3-form community primary school in Brislington. Our values of kindness, courage, community and curiosity run through everything we do, from curriculum and extra-curricular activities to our status as a UNICEF Rights Respecting School. Ofsted confirmed in November 2023 that we remain a Good school, and we are keen to keep improving.

We are looking for two co-opted governors to join our board. Experience in finance, HR, law, property, education or community engagement would be particularly valuable, but you do not need to have previous governance experience as induction and training are provided. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and want our board to reflect our diverse community.

Governors set the school's strategic direction, support and challenge school leaders, and help ensure every child thrives. The time commitment is approximately 2 meetings per term, a link visit 2 times per year and occasional requests to support recruitment or other school activities.

For further information, please contact the school office to arrange an informal conversation with the Vice Chair of Governors.

To apply, please complete the attached application form and return it to the school office. All applications will be considered by the Governing Board.

Closing date: November 30th, 2026

Appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, a section 128 check and confirmation that you are eligible to serve under the School Governance (Constitution) Regulations. Holymead Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children."
