Employer: Holymead Primary

Location: Brislington, Bristol

Contract: Part time September 2026 , Fixed Term until 23rd July 2027

Hours: 8.30am – 4.15pm Monday to Friday

Salary: BG9 Range (depending on experience)

Holymead Primary School is a three form entry school at the heart of its community in Brislington, South Bristol. Our calm, friendly and welcoming environment is conducive to great teaching and learning, with highly motivated pupils, an effective school structure and leadership team, and a close-knit team of colleagues. Our most recent Ofsted Inspection (September 2023) recognised the value we place in relationships and our commitment to both pupils and staff:

“Pupils thrive, both academically and personally, in this environment.”

“Staff are proud to be part of the school. They appreciate the consideration given to their well-being and the assistance they receive to manage their workload. They say that the school has a tangible sense of ‘community’.”

We are seeking a Cover Supervisor to work across the primary phase to cover both regular class teacher release time (e.g. PPA time, Subject Leader planning time etc) and irregular class teacher cover (class teacher CPD, unplanned absence etc). The primary focus of this role is to deliver pre-planned lessons, to ensure all pupils are supported in their learning and make good progress, and to work with class teachers and senior leaders to ensure continuity of teaching in line with the school’s policies (e.g. Teaching and Learning, Assessment, Behaviour, etc). When not covering classes, the postholder will support pupils, teachers and the wider school team through targeted interventions, small group work, administrative tasks and general classroom support.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is committed our school values on Kindness, Courage, Curiosity and Community.

• Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, working effectivity as part of a team.

• Is an effective classroom practitioner

• Demonstrates consistently high expectations of behaviour

• Is highly organised

• Is creative, resilient and energetic

• Committed to supporting pupils with special educational needs

• Adaptable and flexible

• Has a good working knowledge of the primary curriculum.

• Is eager to learn and develop their own practice.

We can offer:

• A school where every individual’s well-being is paramount

• The opportunity to join an excellent, happy and supportive team

• Commitment to your own personal and professional development
