Bridge Learning Campus is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic, and well-organised Creative Technician to join our Creative Technologies Department. This part-time, term-time-only role will primarily support Food Design Technology, with additional responsibilities across Art and Textiles.
The exciting new post will suit someone with strong practical and organisational skills who enjoys working in an educational environment with secondary-age students. You will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning by preparing materials and equipment, setting up lessons, maintaining resources, and occasionally assisting students during practical sessions under the supervision of teaching staff.
As part of the wider Creative Department, you will help ensure that classrooms and studios are safe, well-organised, and inspiring learning spaces. You will also contribute to the delivery of our all-through Creative and Design curriculum, supporting innovative and engaging learning experiences across the 11–16 age range.

Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise practical resources and facilities, providing assistance and advice on current 'best practice' in the practical needs of the curriculum, and ensuring this is embedded within the operational activity of the learning programme
- Proactively contributing to the assessment, monitoring and review of safe working practices and procedures
- Keeping abreast of 'best practice' through networking and continuing professional development
- The provision of technical advice and administrative support on safety issues to teaching staff
- The disposal of used materials, including any dangerous substances, and dealing proactively with real or potential hazards
- The storage and accessibility of equipment and materials
- Contribute to the day-to-day organisation and development of the work of the curriculum area ensuring that essential performance standards are achieved
- Contribute to the adaptation, development and maintenance of any specialist resources or longer term research projects, and by providing any advice, assistance and support requested by students and/or teachers for effective delivery of practical aspects of the curriculum
- Support the Head of Department and teaching staff in ensuring the availability of suitable materials and equipment, the provision of effective stock control and helping to compile orders and liaise with suppliers in conjunction with the school's designated budget holder in obtaining and receiving goods or services
- Under the overall guidance of the Head of Department ensure that both routine and non-routine checking, maintenance, calibration, cleaning and fault investigation and resolution of equipment is carried out within the work area to the required standard
- Overall accountability for the Health and Safety of the department.
