Bristol Metropolitan Academy is looking to appoint a passionate and inspiring Deputy Programme Leader of English to join its supportive and talented team.

Full Time, M1 – UPS3 (£30,000 - £46,525) & TLR 2A

Permanent contract from 1 September 2024

The successful candidate will need a personality that is vibrant and engaging and can demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills. They should be able to build and maintain authentic relationships with their students and colleagues and strive to become an integral part of the BMA community.

Bristol Metropolitan Academy is part of the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF). Bristol Metropolitan Academy is an oversubscribed forward thinking Academy based in Fishponds, Bristol, rated “Good” with Outstanding features by Ofsted in 2022.

In Summer 2019 the Academy secured attainment that exceeded national average for the first time, with the best results the Academy has ever had. We also secured our best ever Progress 8 score at over +0.5. Despite the pandemic Summer 2022 saw this level of performance being achieved again with a Progress 8 score of in excess of +0.5 with the highest attainment results in the history of the Academy.

Teaching Training 

The CLF SCITT provides school-centred initial teacher training for graduates who want to become a primary or secondary school teacher.

Safeguarding and pre-employment checks: 

The Cabot Learning Federation are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity. 

The successful applicant will, in accordance with statutory guidance, be subject to a comprehensive pre-employment checking process including references from current and previous employers, health, right to work in the UK and a child disqualification check. The checks will also include an enhanced DBS check and a further check against the appropriate barred list.
