Job Title: Dyslexia Teacher

Actual Annual Salary: £17,347 - £26,903 (M1 to UPS3 based on 0.6 FTE)

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 (M1 to UPS3)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Part-time, 19.5 hours per week, 0.6 FTE

Additional role info: Working Pattern - Tuesday to Thursday

We are seeking an inspirational teacher with expertise in supporting learners with dyslexia. You will play a vital role in championing success and creating equity of opportunity for every child in our trust.

About you:

You will be:

  • a qualified teacher or hold an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • able to meet the needs of learners from key identified groups, including pupil premium, looked after children, SEND and High Attaining students.
  • a strong communicator with the ability to embrace change, motivate colleagues and build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • able to recognise, value and support the delivery of opportunities which extend beyond the confines of classroom delivery and seek to enrich and add value to the students experience & learning.
  • empowered to develop your own expert practice and support the development of others.

Desirable:

  • Completion of a postgraduate-level course at or equivalent to Level 7, including at least 100 hours relating to individual specialist assessment of learners with Dyslexia/SpLD, or Exam Access Arrangements.
  • Holding a current SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate, as awarded by BDA, the Dyslexia Guild, or Patoss and listed on the SASC website. This should include a strong understanding of the theoretical basis underlying psychometric tests, such as:

- Concepts of validity and reliability

- Standard deviations and the normal curve

- Raw scores, standard scores, quotients, percentiles, and age-equivalent scores

- Statistically significant discrepancies between scores

- Standard error of measurement and confidence intervals
