Job Title: Exam Invigilators

Hourly Rate: £12.86 (CLF Grade Aii)

Contract Type: Casual Basis

An opportunity to provide flexible, casual support to the academy team during busy exam periods.

We are seeking Exam Invigilators to join our supportive and dedicated team at Bristol Metropolitan Academy. Due to an increase in exam access arrangements, we require additional invigilators to support a growing number of rooms across the academy. This includes both independent access arrangement rooms and the main exam hall.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting students of all abilities, ensuring exams are conducted in a calm, fair and compliant environment.

As a casual role, you will work when available and be called upon during key exam periods. Invigilators are asked to commit to our exam windows, which total approximately 10–12 weeks across the academic year.

About the Role

This position requires flexibility, as exams take place at various points throughout the year. These typically include:

  • Mock exams across different year groups
  • External exam periods in November, January and March
  • Summer exams during May and June

Working hours may vary, as exam environments need to be set up before the school day begins and can occasionally run beyond the end of the school day.

About You

You will:

  • Have practical experience of following processes and procedures accurately
  • Possess strong interpersonal, organisational and time management skills
  • Be able to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to unexpected situations
  • Demonstrate a caring, patient and understanding approach, with sensitivity to students’ individual needs
  • Be able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
