The successful candidate will take a key role in leading and delivering high-quality targeted interventions across the primary age range (R–Y6), supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual potential. Working closely with class teachers, the SEND team and wider staff, you will help to identify pupils’ needs, plan appropriate provision and ensure that interventions are purposeful, well delivered and have a measurable impact on learning and progress.

The Intervention Hub Lead will be responsible for organising and delivering a range of targeted interventions, which may include support for pupils with SEND, phonics, reading, writing, mathematics, communication and language, social and emotional development, and other identified areas of need. You will adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of pupils and ensure that support is inclusive and closely linked to classroom learning.

You will take responsibility for planning and preparing intervention programmes and resources, maintaining accurate records, monitoring pupil progress and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. You will use assessment information and your knowledge of pupils to identify next steps and, where appropriate, work with teachers and other professionals to ensure a consistent and joined-up approach to support.

Flexibility, resilience and the ability to respond positively to the challenges of working in a busy primary school are essential.

You will work as an integral member of our established team and contribute fully to the wider school community. You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to build strong and positive relationships with children and colleagues, and demonstrate a genuine passion for inclusive education.

You will understand that effective intervention is not simply about providing additional support, but about enabling pupils to become increasingly independent and successful learners.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic practitioner to take a lead role in developing and delivering effective intervention provision, helping every child to overcome barriers, make progress and access their ‘World of Opportunities’.

As part of the role, you may be required to provide high-quality class cover during periods of staff absence or PPA, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining the high expectations and positive learning environment established by the class teacher.

About our School

Our school is set in fabulous and spacious grounds in South Bristol. We have three playgrounds and two areas that are specially set up for our Early Years Children. We have allotments, climbing and adventure equipment, an arboretum, a secret garden, large playing fields and our very own cycle track. With two buildings we also have plenty of space inside. We have two halls, a fully fitted cookery room with four cooking stations and a relaxing grassed courtyard. Children in the Foundation Stage and KS1 (Infants) are in one building and children in KS2 (Juniors) are in another building.
