An exciting opportunity to work at a rapidly expanding Special School.

We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our Intervention and Response Team.

Briarwood has a dedicated team of staff, governors and parents/carers who are proud to support 166 children and young people aged 3 to 19 years and are passionate about their progress, happiness and care.

You will be required to work with a range of pupils whom have severe and profound learning difficulties. A large number of our pupils have challenging behaviours and are within the Autistic Spectrum or have high medical needs. Candidates must bring energy, confidence and enthusiasm with a commitment to inclusion. We will provide a planned induction with a large, strong and supportive teaching and support team. Under the guidance of the Head of Provision, Head of Inclusion, Assistant Head, Heads of Schools and teaching staff, you will provide direct support for the pupils in emergency situations as well as supporting their learning through bespoke interventions. Experience and knowledge in working with children within a special needs setting is desirable. This is an exciting opportunity to join our school in a period of rapid development.

The post is 32.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8.45am to 3.45pm. Term time only, fixed term for 6 months.  Salary dependent on local Government continuous service
