Brentry Primary School

Permanent contract, required from 3rd September 2026

4 days a week (0.8) – There may be some flexibility with this

MPS/UPR dependent on experience

Excellent Teacher required!

Brentry Primary is a great little school with motivated, happy, well-behaved pupils and friendly, funny and (usually) well-behaved staff. The Governors wish to appoint an excellent teacher for a Key Stage 2 class. The successful candidate will be a high quality, committed practitioner with a sense of humour. Someone who can show they take the job very seriously, but not necessarily themselves.

We are unexpectedly losing our Year 5 teacher, who is also the English lead. Yep, a double whammy! Therefore, knowledge and experience of teaching Year 5 would be an advantage, and the desire and ability to lead English would definitely help. However, we are open to applications from anyone with KS2 experience as we have some capacity to reorganise things internally. We understand that the 31st May has passed, so we can’t look at anyone in post. However, you never know who is out there looking!

Beyond the above, we are looking for someone who:

• Has high expectations of children and a strong understanding of how they learn

• Is willing to go that extra mile to ensure all pupils succeed

• Can plan and deliver high quality, adapted, innovative lessons that motivate and inspire

• Is willing to contribute to the school on a wider level

• Is willing and able to lead a curriculum area

We can offer:

• The opportunity to work in a welcoming, successful, forward-thinking school

• A newly(ish) refurbished school building

• A superb outdoor space including acres of playing fields, orchards and an outdoor classroom

• A warm, supportive environment where learning and caring for all is promoted

• A commitment to your continuing professional development

We are proud to complement our curriculum learning with a wealth of activities designed to enhance and enrich lives and to open children’s eyes to the exciting world that awaits them.

'This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment'

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please contact the school office to make an appointment. Please apply by downloading and completing an application form and sending it with a covering letter addressed to the Head Teacher, Mr Geraint Clarke.

Closing date: Monday 15th June Interviews: Tuesday 23rd June
