New Fosseway School are looking to recruit part time and full time SEN Learning Support Assistants.

We are seeking candidates who are enthusiastic and have experience working with complex educational, medical and behavioural needs. The successful candidates will be able to implement varied behaviour management strategies, be nurturing, energetic and empathetic when working in this setting.

The role of a learning support assistant at New Fosseway school is a vital role within this school community. Our professional and dedicated learning support assistants have the expertise and skills to help support the teaching staff to deliver a personalised SEN provision to support students and young people to access the curriculum at an appropriate level and to achieve their defined progression targets within their EHCPs.

Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week (full time), 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only plus 5 inset days.

Part time hours also available and can be discussed at interview stage, if shortlisted for the position.

Job requirements

- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum
- GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above
- Experience of supporting pupils with SEN and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including supporting speech and language
- Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision, including working with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions
 - Ability to effectively communicate on the pupil’s progress, with strong written and verbal communication skills
