This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nursery Teacher to join our inspirational team in this inner city, diverse and vibrant Early Years setting.

St Pauls is an outstanding nursery school. Central to our work is our commitment to enabling a sense of belonging, emotional wellbeing and connection, curiosity and the resilience to embrace a ‘learning to learn’ philosophy for all. This is within the context of an inclusive, creative responsive and ambitious learning environment. Here individuality is celebrated and learning personalised for everyone.

St Pauls Nursery School is a long-standing Centre of Excellence, having previously been a National Teaching School and Early Years Hub, we are now lead setting for the regional EYs Stronger Practice Hub ‘Bristol and Beyond’. We have achieved these things together because we have built great pedological and leadership expertise, we engage in research and have developed innovative partnerships with other services/providers in region. We work with some of the best in our sector and are opportunistic about learning.

We are looking for an EYs Teacher who:

• Is fascinated by children’s learning and finds joy in their individuality
• Has strong EYs pedagogy and can engage in researchful thinking and practice to enable us to better understand young children’s learning
• Can create and maintain an inspiring environment
• Is self-motivated and will have ambition for our children, families and community
• Has effective communication skills which help to engage, motivate and empower a team
• Understands the need for accountability
• Is committed to inclusion and narrowing gaps in achievement
• Is solution focused and can think creatively

Above all we want someone who will love this job, be proud to be part of St Pauls and will bring energy and optimism to the role.

In return we can offer you:

• A dynamic and responsive learning community which supports high expectations for all
• An experienced leadership team that is committed to improving outcomes for children and their families through effective distributive leadership
• A planned programme for high quality supervision, professional learning and development and opportunities to deliver training, study days, learning walks etc as part of the Early Years Hub regional offer provision in an outward facing role
• Opportunities to take the lead on developing research and practice
• A warm, loving, funny encouraging and welcoming team
• A wonderful inter-cultural community

Please do not hesitate to contact the centre if you require more information, or check out our new website.

We also do recommend that you take time to visit our Nursery School before you decide to apply, it is important for you to get a feel for St Pauls and decide if you think it is a place in which you can professionally thrive.

Closing date for applications: Monday 20th April 2026
