About the role

This is a key pastoral leadership role responsible for leading behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and pastoral care for a Year Group. It is a non-teaching, student-facing position focused on ensuring that all students are supported, safe and able to thrive.

The role may operate with or without a dedicated Assistant Head of Year. The successful candidate will provide strong pastoral leadership and work collaboratively with colleagues to promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and achievement across the year group.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading on behaviour, attendance and pastoral support within a year group

• To monitor and evaluate the impact of pastoral strategies across the year group

What we are looking for:

• Strong understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management

• Ability to build positive, professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

• Resilience and confidence in managing challenging situations

Why this role?
