Job Title: Science Technician

Actual Annual Salary: £9,005 – £9,815 Based on hours and weeks worked

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £25,941 - £28,275 (CLF Grade B) Based on full time hours, all year round.

Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time

Hours: Part time, 15 hours per week, Term Time only plus + 5 Inset Days

Working Pattern: 5 hours per day – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

We are looking for a Science Technician to join our supportive and talented team at Hanham Woods Academy. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning.  

To be successful in the post, we are looking for a Science Technician who will support with the practical and technical aspects of the Science curriculum.  They will prepare, provide, maintain and manage the necessary resources and information required to enable healthy, safe and engaging practical activities to be undertaken by staff and students. 

About You:

  • Practical experience of understanding and following processes and procedures.
  • Experience of using, cleaning, maintaining, and ensuring the safety of specialist equipment.
  • Educated to a minimum of A Level standard in science and/or equivalent experience in science such as laboratory experience.
  • Hold a relevant vocational qualification e.g. COSHH and/or have knowledge of safe working practices in relation to the handling and usage of hazardous equipment and tools which may include knowledge of COSHH regulations and/or CLEAPPS guidance.
  • Confident use of IT systems relevant to the post.
  • Good standard of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good general administration skills.
