Come and join our friendly, dynamic, sociable and dedicated staff team here at Oasis Academy Long Cross Specialist Resource Base.

Oasis Academy Long Cross Specialist Resource Base for children with severe and complex learning needs including autism, is a unique and specialist provision situated in a thriving primary school in north Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced team which will soon be expanding following the local authority request to expand.

The Specialist Resource Base spans over five classes (soon to be seven) for children from Reception to Year six who present with a range of needs and strengths, they all have an Education and Health Care Plan and require a specialist placement full time. You must bring energy, confidence, and enthusiasm with a commitment to inclusion and continuing professional development. Under the guidance of the teaching staff, you will provide direct support for the learning of individual children or groups of children to achieve defined progression targets.

Specialist Resource Base 1:1 Support LSA

We are pleased to announce that we are expanding our fantastic team of SEND LSAs within our specialist resource base. This is a learning support role that is working 1:1 with a child in our Resource base. This is predominately working in a specialist class with a very experienced team. You will be expected to work under the direction of the class teacher in delivering the requirements of the EHCP provisions alongside working and supporting a curriculum offer. Parts of the role will require you to potentially be off site with the child, when interventions cannot be delivered in the school.

Desirable experience would be:

• Working with children with ASD

• Experience of delivering speech and language interventions

• Working with children with attachment needs

• Working closely with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions.

• Record and collate evidence to support next step planning.

If you wish to work with pupils with special needs or are considering a career in education then we can offer you:-

• An experienced, supportive and committed team to work alongside and learn from.

• Pedagogy that is centred around the child, ensuring the child has exceptional provision, every day, every hour every moment, so no learning time is ever wasted!

• High quality teaching and learning delivered through a bespoke and exciting curriculum with an emphasis on play and hands on experiences.

• Opportunities to develop skills in alternative communication strategies and other strategies that scaffold and support learning.

• Weekly team meetings where the team can support and shift practice and provision where needed, with a high importance on team collaboration and reflection.

• Close working relationships with parents and carers to ensure “joined up” thinking and consistency.

• Inclusion at the heart of everything!

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and adaptable Learning Support Assistant to join our highly skilled and experienced team, who is committed to providing, supporting, and leading outstanding provision for children. We need a resilient, positive practitioner who shows a good understanding of child development and a clear knowledge of the curriculum and how this can be delivered creatively with an emphasis on play.

Candidates will be expected to have at least an NVQ2 or equivalent qualification or be working towards this and experience of working with children with SEND in either a mainstream or special school provision. This is an exciting opportunity to join our unique and vibrant school.
