Venturers’ Academy is seeking a committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our specialist team and support pupils with additional learning needs to achieve their full potential. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition providing tailored support that enables them to access learning, develop independence, and build confidence. As part of our nurturing and inclusive environment, you will play a vital role in ensuring every pupil feels supported, valued and empowered to succeed both academically and personally.

Key responsibilities: 

Provide tailored support to students with Autism Spectrum Condition, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions

Support individual and small groups of students to access learning, following teacher planning and guidance

Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using consistent, trauma-informed and autism-aware strategies

Build strong, respectful relationships that support students’ confidence, independence, and wellbeing

Assist in the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised learning strategies

Support personal care needs where required, with dignity and respect

Pay range: 

NJC 8 - 13 - £23,592.34 - £25,562.47

FTE - £26,824.00 - £29,064.00

37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Qualifications and Skills: 

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above

A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)

A commitment to supporting children and young people with SEND, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition

The ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the direction of teaching staff

Strong communication skills and a calm, patient, and flexible approach
