Location: Brislington, Bristol

Contract: Full time September 2026

Hours: 0.6 FTE or 1.0 FTE with 0.4 Teaching commitment

Salary: MPS/UPS Salary depending on experience (plus SEN allowance depending on qualifications)

Holymead Primary School is a three form entry school at the heart of its community in Brislington, South Bristol. Our calm, friendly and welcoming environment is conducive to great teaching and learning, with highly motivated pupils, an effective school structure and leadership team, and a close-knit team of colleagues. Our recent Ofsted Inspection (September 2023) recognised the value we place in relationships and our commitment to both pupils and staff:

“Pupils thrive, both academically and personally, in this environment.”

“Staff are proud to be part of the school. They appreciate the consideration given to their well-being and the assistance they receive to manage their workload. They say that the school has a tangible sense of ‘community’.”

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic SENDCO to work on our Junior Site. The role will focus on organising SEND provision for pupils, working with parents and carers of SEND pupils, supporting colleagues in their professional development relating to SEND, and working with senior leaders on formulating the school’s ongoing strategic vision for SEND support. We are a large split-site primary school and will work in partnership with our experienced Infant Site based SENDCO and Family Link Workers.

We are looking for someone who is:

• A champion for pupils with SEND

• Committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion

• One of two Designated Teachers for Children in Care and PLAC

• A teacher, committed to the highest achievements for all pupils

• An efficient and effective communicator

• Highly organised and adaptable

• Knowledgeable about best practice in SEND provision

• Able to share excellent practice and organise effective CPD for staff

• A qualified SENDco or working towards this qualification

• Knowledgeable about national expectations around SEND provision for schools

We can offer:

• A school where every individual’s well-being is paramount

• The opportunity to join an excellent, happy and supportive team
