Job Title: Senior Administration Assistant  

Actual Annual Salary: £21,064 - £22,708 Based on hours and weeks worked. 

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £28,859 - £31,111 (CLF Grade C) Based on 37 hours per week, All year round.  

Contract Type: Permanent 

Hours: Part Time, 30 hours per week, Term Time Only Plus Insets and 10 additional days 

Additional information: This role can be delivered over 4 days instead of 5 days per week.

Bristol Metropolitan Academy is seeking a highly organised, proactive and professional Senior Administration Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team on a permanent basis. 

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within the Academy's administration function, providing high-quality clerical, organisational and administrative support while leading on important processes including student admissions and supporting Year 6 to Year 7 transition activities. 

Working closely with the Operations Manager and transition team, you will help ensure that students and families experience a smooth and positive journey into Bristol Metropolitan Academy. Based within our shared administration office behind reception, you will work as part of a collaborative team, supporting the day-to-day operations of the Academy and contributing to a positive experience for students, parents, staff and visitors. 

The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload. You will support a wide range of administrative processes, maintain accurate records, coordinate admissions activities, assist with academy events and transition programmes, and ensure administrative systems operate effectively and efficiently. During busy periods, you may also be required to provide reception support and assist colleagues across the wider academy team. 

About You 

You will: 

  • Hold an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or an equivalent qualification or relevant experience). 
  • Have GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent qualifications), or be able to demonstrate equivalent literacy and numeracy skills through experience. 
  • Have substantial experience of working in an administrative role and undertaking a broad range of administrative duties, ideally within an educational or similar environment. 
  • Have experience of managing administrative systems and processes and producing high-quality correspondence, reports and records. 
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, parents, colleagues and external stakeholders. 
  • Have strong planning, organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. 
  • Have excellent accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling student information and admissions data. 
  • Be confident using Microsoft Office applications and administrative systems, with the ability to quickly learn academy-specific software. 
  • Be able to work independently using initiative while also being an effective and supportive team member. 
  • Provide excellent customer service and help create a welcoming environment for all visitors and members of the academy community. 
  • Be committed to inclusion, safeguarding and ensuring every young person has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
