Lunchtime Support and Personal Care Assistant in our Specialist Resource Base for pupils with Autism/Communication Needs

Start date: As soon as possible

Salary: £25,948.96 Full time equivalent, £6,133.20 pro rata

Contract: Permanent: Term time only plus 5 inset days

Working pattern: 10 hours weekly 11.30-1.30 pm Mon-Fri

Sefton Park Schools are federated Infant and Junior Schools. The schools offer a holistic and child centred approach to education where children can learn and grow in a caring and exciting environment. Our schools are a dynamic, supportive, happy place to work. We have recently opened a new specialist resource base and are excited to welcome a new team and new pupils to our community.

The Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic employee to provide support for lunchtime, play activities and personal care for pupils in our new specialist resource base.

The Resource Base has a focus on supporting pupils with ASC and speech, language needs.

The key tasks of the role will be:

● Helping pupils set the table and clear away in our Lifeskills Room

● Supervising and supporting pupils when they are eating lunch

● Supporting pupils with personal care and independence skills such as eating, drinking and toileting.

● Supporting and supervising pupils with play (indoor and outdoor)

● Supporting pupils with personal care and independence skills.

● Supporting transition from lunchtime back to class

● As a team member, you will play a crucial role in facilitating and supervising the experience, ensuring a safe, clean and enjoyable environment.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

● Has a passion for working with children and supporting their development.

● Has strong communication skills.

● Has a desire to develop their skills and knowledge of working with pupils with additional needs.

● Is enthusiastic, reliable and able to work well as part of a team

● Is able to develop positive relationships with staff and children.

● Experience working with children within a nursery, primary school or specialist setting is desirable but not essential.
