Oasis Academy New Oak is seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant, who will be able to support our pupils in our Nurture Provision and help make a positive contribution to the continuing development of our Academy. 

You will manage and spend the majority of your time in the Sunshine Room (Nurture Provision).  The Sunshine room is a specific space in which you will be able to lead your interventions and support. You will working with pupils across the academy. 

Hours of Work:  Monday to Thursday, 8:30am–1:10pm & Friday 8:30am-1:00pm (23hrs per week), Term Time only, plus inset days (39 weeks per year). Working pattern can be negotiated if needed.

Salary: OCL Scale 5 SCP 13-17 (£26,873 - £28,770 FTE) -  (Actual Starting Salary £14,368), plus Local Government Pension Scheme.

Pupils flourish in the nurturing culture at OA New Oak which embraces inclusivity and values everyone for their individuality. Provision for pupils who have high-level special educational needs is strong – there are two specialist resource bases, one for children with autism and one for deaf learners. Oasis Academy New Oak is a primary academy in Hengrove [South Bristol] which currently serves just over 200 young people.

Our last Ofsted inspection was in June 2022 where we were judged to be a ‘Good’ school with ‘Outstanding’ in Personal Development.
