We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Therapy - Learning Support Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support pupils with speech, language and communication needs, deliver targeted interventions, and work collaboratively with colleagues to promote progress and ensure an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
The successful candidate will be required to work towards a ELKLAN Level 3 or 4 qualification.
Key responsibilities:
- Support pupils with speech, language and communication needs during lessons and structured sessions.
- Contribute to the creation of personalised support plans and ensure strategies are followed consistently.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing clear feedback to teaching and specialist staff.
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement and independence in all learning activities.
- Help maintain an inclusive, safe and supportive environment for all pupils.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, participating in meetings and training as required.
Pay range: NJ5 - 7 - £19,764.35 - £20,397.85 FTE: £25,583.00 - £26,403.00 - 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks a year.
Qualifications and Skills:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Knowledge of ELKLAN strategies or completion of ELKLAN training is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting children with additional needs is desirable.
- Understanding of speech, language and communication needs, or willingness to undertake relevant training.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow specialist guidance and deliver structured interventions.
- Patience, empathy and a positive, supportive approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Reliable, organised, and committed to safeguarding and inclusion.
