Cotham School, a successful, vibrant and diverse 11-18 comprehensive school, wishes to appoint an experienced Subject Lead Design and Technology.

Are you an inspiring Design & Technology teacher ready to step into leadership? Cotham School is seeking a committed and forward‑thinking Subject Leader of Design and Technology to help drive excellence across our thriving faculty.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner who can provide the necessary leadership which raises standards and outcomes, inspiring, developing and monitoring others to do the same.

As Subject Leader of Design & Technology, you will play a central role in shaping the strategic direction of the department. You will:

  • Lead curriculum planning, assessment, and high‑quality teaching across Key Stages.
  • Model excellent practice through your own teaching.
  • Support the Faculty Leader with the effective day to day operation of the faculty.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and maintain specialist equipment.
  • Use data effectively to monitor progress and secure strong outcomes for all learners.
  • Promote equality, inclusion, and high expectations across the subject.
  • Support, hold accountable, lead, manage and develop Faculty staff.
