Main responsibilities:
Provide, as directed, in class support for identified individuals or groups of students
In class support may be in a variety of subject lessons or in small group intervention classes, however if you have expertise in a particular subject area we will always try to have you support there.
Work with the teacher to ensure effective lesson preparation and delivery of the curriculum.
Pre-teach resources where appropriate.
Develop adaptive practice that ensures learners can access and succeed in the work set
Ensure that students being supported are independent and organised in their work
Assess and evaluate the underlying causes and issues of concern in lessons, address these including making referrals to others for additional support, and delivering interventions
Mentor and develop positive relationships with these students so support given can have the highest impact.
You will need:
GCSE A - C (Grades 9 - 4) Or Equivalent in English and Maths
Relevant professional qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent relevant to a Teaching Assistant Role). Desirable
Excellent communication with children and parents / carers
